My Approach

  • Dr. Brewer understands that grief often intertwines with trauma, creating layers of emotional pain and confusion. His approach focuses on creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel supported in expressing and exploring their emotions without fear of invalidation.

  • Recognizing that no two grief journeys are the same, Dr. Brewer tailors his strategies to meet each client’s unique needs. Whether dealing with sudden loss, anticipatory grief, or disenfranchised losses, he adapts his methods to align with the client’s emotional state and life circumstances.

  • At the heart of his practice is the belief that healing comes through connection. Dr. Brewer emphasizes the importance of acknowledging the depth of loss while fostering meaningful relationships and rebuilding connections with oneself, others, and the world.

  • For those grieving while in positions of leadership, Dr. Brewer offers guidance on balancing personal grief with professional responsibilities. He provides tools to lead with authenticity and resilience, even amidst personal loss.

  • Dr. Brewer views grief as a transformative process. While it is painful, it can also be a pathway to growth and rediscovery. His goal is to help clients move forward—not by “moving on” or forgetting their loss, but by integrating it into their lives in a healthy and meaningful way.

  • Along with emotional support, Dr. Brewer equips clients with practical tools and coping mechanisms to navigate daily life during their grief journey. From mindfulness techniques to structured action plans, he provides clients with actionable steps to regain a sense of stability and hope.

“stop trying to just move on, it’s time to intentionally move forward.”
